This June, Maharam debuts a multibrand showroom for Edelman, Knoll Textiles, and Maharam in Chicago’s Fulton Market, featuring a display of thirty textiles on a dynamic presentation system by American industrial designer Leon Ransmeier.

Titled Stick Frame, the presentation system explores the shaping of space within a space. “I wanted to create a system that is honest about its modularity,” says Ransmeier, “a structure that can redirect the flow of movement, and that can itself be reconfigured over time.”

Assembled from twelve unique pieces of stainless-steel tubing, Stick Frame reflects a shared commitment to reducing the environmental impact of designing, fabricating, and shipping bespoke installations, with its modular approach ensuring an adaptable structure for years to come.

Highlights from Knoll Textiles include tributes to its design legacy, from reissued archival upholsteries to new additions in architectural window covering.

Maharam previews a range of products designed for reduced environmental impact, ongoing collaborations with fashion designers Paul Smith and Sander Lak, and faithful reissues of mid-century designs by Alexander Girard.

Banner Stripe by Paul Smith—the newest collaboration in a dialogue spanning over two decades— furthers a shared interest in reinterpreting classic motifs through idiosyncratic applications of color, pattern, and scale.

Nova, an intricately woven upholstery by Sander Lak, continues a collaborative and far-ranging exploration of color—this time through an abstracted motif on an exaggerated scale.

Leon Ransmeier, an American designer and graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, founded his New York-based design practice Ransmeier Inc. in 2010. He has since designed furniture and interior products for clients including Arita 2016/, HAY, Herman Miller, and Mattiazzi. His work is included in the permanent collection of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Corning Museum of Glass. He was recently named Head of Industrial Design at Cranbrook Academy of Art.
